The Outer Banks’ biggest and greenest tradition is back! Kelly’s 34th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade kicks off on Sunday, March 16th, at 1 PM in Nags Head—rain or shine! Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this is the can’t-miss event of the season, bringing festive floats, music, and plenty of Irish cheer to the beach.

Honoring Dare County’s Maritime Legacy

This year’s parade Grand Marshal is the Dare County Historical Maritime Industry, celebrating our area’s deep roots in commercial fishing and boat building. More seafood is landed in Dare County than anywhere else in North Carolina, and our boat-building industry is among the most thriving in the nation—crafting everything from small hunting boats to mid-size commercial vessels and world-class sportfishing yachts.

The Wanchese Marine Industrial Park, a state-owned facility supporting marine and service businesses, continues to play a vital role in promoting North Carolina’s maritime industries. So, as you cheer on the floats, give a special nod to the boats, captains, and craftsmen who help shape our coastal economy.

Parade Route & Competition

The one-mile parade route starts at Bladen St. (MP 11.5) and heads north to Driftwood St. on Virginia Dare Trail (Beach Rd.). Expect lively performances, decked-out floats, and plenty of green beads flying through the air!

Winners will be announced after the parade, so bring your A-game if you’re participating!
